Gun Sense Voter Action Plan

Take action. Change is possible.

Since 1998 there have been 245 mass shootings at schools in the United States. As a nation we have watched as mass shootings take place at places of worship, grocery stores, graduation ceremonies, and concerts. Robb Elementary school, where 19 children and two teachers were murdered, was the 245th. One week later a shooter opened fire at a hospital in Tulsa.

We don’t have to live this way. Our leaders cannot pretend the answer to ending this epidemic of gun violence is out of reach. We have the power to change the future, and it starts with all of us.

Here are steps you can take today:

  1. Support Gun Sense Candidates across the country.

The best way we can make change is to elect candidates that are not only willing to vote for gun safety legislation, but who will champion this issue. And it is time to vote out the people who are blocking action on this issue in Congress.

    • Volunteer for Gun Sense Candidates! You can make a difference in these races. Not sure if your local Rep. is supporting common sense gun safety? Find out here.

    • Chip in $5 to help recruit and support the next generation of Gun Sense Candidates.

    • Get involved with Gunsense Vermont and support their organizing efforts across Vermont.

  2. Write letters and emails to Governor AbbotT in Texas and call on him to take meaningful action to protect Texans.

  3. Call Congress.

Yes, this actually makes a difference. The House has passed meaningful gun safety legislation and the Senate refuses to bring the bills to the floor for a vote. Call Senators blocking gun reform legislation in Washington and let them know that enough is enough.

We will have more steps for folks in the coming days, and please do not hesitate to reach out to our team if we can help.

In solidarity,

Team Becca
