Working for Windham County
Our corner of Vermont faces enormous challenges: an aging workforce, little population growth, a shortage of young workers to fill area jobs, rising rates of poverty in our elementary schools, a soft housing market, and the loss of jobs and income due to the closing of the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant. Confronted with so many obstacles to prosperity, we could be paralyzed by fear. Let’s choose pragmatic optimism and action instead.
My vision for Windham County is one in which we:
- Create a dynamic, diverse economy
- Develop an economic climate that fosters innovation
- Attract and retain good-paying jobs
- Support strong schools
- Help to implement programs and services that support families
We can make our county a place where all can make a home.
